Top 10 Reasons Why Anyone Would Want To Study in ISI

1. There are no fees (tuition or otherwise) at all, ever.

2. You get a stipend (750 (and proposed to increase to3000) for undergraduates )
3. You have very small class sizes with unity faculty-student ratio (and sometimes even less)
4. You have great extracurricular facilities. (much better than some of the other recent institutes which take money in the lakhs for development facilities which I have seen.)
5. It is under the Ministry of Statistics (and funded by the same)
6. Almost all no reservation. (They will only take you if you are good not on the basis of which caste or which religion you are from)
7. The faculty are world class and usually publish in the top journals ( LORs + SOPs)
8. There is 100% placement for the few who need them. (The rest do PhDs and go into academia.)
9. Your fellow classmates are of the order of IMO,INMO medallists, God profiles, Prometheus Society members etc. (and therefore great to talk to / work with)
10. Faculty are very approachable and will always work with you in any degree of research as you may see fit.

Suggested books

Suggested books for B.math n B.stat:TEST OF MATHEMATICS AT 10+2 LEVEL AND
TWO MORE WRITTEN BY ISI PROFESSOR(I DONT KNOW NAMES)
Interesting thing is the first one is suggested for (iit)jee preparation.
Generally ISI didnt fix the no of seats for a course but depends on no of students eligible for persuing that particular course.
B.math is of very high standard. This year b.math had only 2 students.B.math is research oriented in pure maths whereas B.stat(with M.stat) students get good packages even though the latter one is also research oriented.
Generally IMO students will opt for B.math if ur goal is to do research in pure maths its better to opt for b.math.
But hav u look at student's brochure and ask ur teacher wheter u can cope up with those topics at bachelor level.
atlast dont expect ISI will be like an IIT.u hav 2 work hard even after getting into it. The problem is actually not getting in, the problem is to pass after getting in.
the no of seats in b.math are generally 10-20 .
if u hav quesns(be specific) leave as comments here i'll be answering
