Generally ISI didnt fix the no of seats for a course but depends on no of students eligible for persuing that particular course.
B.math is of very high standard. This year b.math had only 2 students.B.math is research oriented in pure maths whereas B.stat(with M.stat) students get good packages even though the latter one is also research oriented.
Generally IMO students will opt for B.math if ur goal is to do research in pure maths its better to opt for b.math.
But hav u look at student's brochure and ask ur teacher wheter u can cope up with those topics at bachelor level.
atlast dont expect ISI will be like an IIT.u hav 2 work hard even after getting into it. The problem is actually not getting in, the problem is to pass after getting in.
the no of seats in b.math are generally 10-20 .
if u hav quesns(be specific) leave as comments here i'll be answering

  1. the seats are 10-20 and only 2 students took it up finally, so did isi reject the others. or they stepped out themselves? or only 2 appeared?
