am presently studying Sciences in class 12 and have given my boards . I came to know about the bstat and bmath programme as well applied for it. I have sourced all information i could have from Google about this . But as you are a student enrolled for the program I think you can provide me with some bits of information useful . I have my interests in Mathematics and Computer Sciences . I want to pursue a career as a blend of this .
MY QUESTION : Can you please tell me about the kind of entrance exam test i will have to face and the interview ? What do i need to practice for entrance test?? MOST IMPORTANT Do u think there is sufficient time for making into isi and the competetion in it?? Awaiting for your reply keenly as it would help me to think futher. Please do reply.
I don't know if I can help or not, but it seems the questions revolve around how to prepare for ISI isn't it? Well anyone who has a LOVE for mathematics should try it. Those with hopes for hardcore engineering, please stay out unless you are really confident about your mathematical intuitions. Well as is widely said, the 10+2 in mathematics (Tomato) is the authority. Solve every previous years test papers and try to solve the 186(?) model subjective questions given. Engineering students should not have problems with the MCQ part, but it hardly counts after you get the cut-off marks. The aim is to get the subjective paper checked. Don't try to solve all the questions (don't even hope for it). They will check your methods, how you do it. I've known those who solved 1 problem and got to the interview ( don't try to imitate him though, he solved a number theory problem with hyperbola---a prodigy) but concentrate on your methods and try to hit at least 50% of the subjective ones. Well methinks that's about all.
